Today was a great day for a ride, low sixties and one of my first rides without rain cloths. I committed to my ride by telling Kim where I was going and was looking forward to getting some hills. Had a good ride here in the upper valley today. I over slept and almost didn’t go out but Kim said “you still have time for a ride.” so I rolled out of bed and got dressed. Veronica got up at the same time so she came down stairs and helped me mix up my Hammer Gel in my flasks. I took off at 7:45 and had to be back by 10:00 for Kim to go ride her horse. (more…)
Workout:
Took the day off today and only rode bikes with my girls. Took them out to lunch at McD’s and then to the library and back. Veronica rode on her Trek ride behind bike and Samantha rode in the Chariot side car. I totaled it up on the way home - it’s about 115lbs more weight than just me and my road bike. A good time was had by all.
If I make my ride in the morning (I should be going to bed now) I’ll have made 110 miles in my first week back on the road bike. Not too bad.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
Today’s ride was great. Sunny, 50 degrees, no rain. I checked the weather report this time. I did forget my water bottles in the rush out the house and had to stop by the LBS (Bicycle Center of Issaquah) to buy a water bottle and some goo (well, they don’t carry goo, (more…)

Well, it’s day 3 of my leave and a ride day on my little schedule (M - W - F - S - S Ride, T - T Aerobics). I rode in Issaquah again today after dropping off the girls again. When I was loading up the car I looked outside and it looked pretty grey and was lightly raining so I threw my rain pants and cleat covers in with everything else (including my full finger gloves this time ;-)).
